Challenge
The objective was to translate Dolly Parton’s authentic Southern identity into a scalable retail platform. The challenge involved moving beyond a standard celebrity endorsement to create a genuine brand extension across multiple product categories that consumers would trust.

Solution
I led the design strategy and brand system for the Dolly Parton partnership under the Duncan Hines brand, launching with a line of baking mixes and frostings. I established a visual system centered around a distinctive pink box with a Dolly illustration designed to be highly recognizable and scalable. I led the design of the initial $40 limited-edition baking collection, which included Dolly-themed merch (tea towel, spatula, recipe cards), and the core retail lineup of Southern-style cake mixes and frostings.
I then oversaw the design system's expansion as the partnership grew from baking into breakfast and eventually into single-serve frozen meals. The design architecture was deliberately flexible, allowing the brand to scale across multiple categories while maintaining a cohesive DNA that captured Dolly's warmth and Southern authenticity.

Results
The partnership generated immediate consumer demand, with the limited-edition collection selling out within minutes of launch. The platform expanded into three major categories within three years proving the scalability of the design system. The collaboration became one of Conagra's most successful licensing partnerships, validating the strategy of using design as the connective tissue between a celebrity's personal brand and a portfolio of consumer products.

What an honor to build this brand from the ground up, and to work with an absolute icon of a human, miss Dolly herself 💕
